Who We Are 

 

Chandler Elementary PTA, in the Valley Gateway Council, 31st District PTSA, is the Parent Teacher Association of Chandler Elementary School in Sherman Oaks.  Chandler PTA is a non-profit volunteer organization made up of parents, families, teachers, and the community.    

 

 

Our Purpose 

 

Chandler PTA partners with teachers, staff, parents, families, and the community to create a safer, healthier, and more enriching environment where children can grow and excel. We are dedicated making every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

 

 

Our Goals 

 

 

Together We Will:

  • Provide support for educational programs at Chandler.
  • Promote social activities that heighten school spirit, encourage family togetherness, and promote humanitarian efforts within our community.
  • Encourage and organize volunteer support for school and PTA programs and events.
  • Increase interest, involvement, and understanding of our local PTA business. Build awareness about the critical role of the PTA in helping students reach their full potential.
  • Conduct purposeful fundraising to support programs and events at Chandler.

Why You Should Participate

 

 

 

Build Roots in the Community. A large, involved PTA group sends a clear message to organizations, corporations and local businesses that we are committed to our school and the surrounding community. This lends strength to our message when seeking grants and donations from these establishments. 
 
Make a Difference! It takes a lot of people to accomplish everything we do at Chandler and we need your help! The skills, passion, energy, and expertise you bring to the school are priceless.  Without your help and fundraising, the many programs we offer may be unable to continue.
 
Get Connected. Whether through our Newsletter, E-mail Updates, the School Directory, our website, or our Facebook page, the PTA will keep you up to date about events, programs and school information. There's no better way to know what's happening at Chandler.
 
Be a Role Model. An involved PTA group sends a message to our children, other parents, neighborhood businesses, organizations, and corporations that we are committed to our children's success, the school, and the surrounding community. This strengthens our ability to seek grants and donations from these establishments.
 
Enjoy Benefits. PTA members enjoy exclusive member perks including discounts on school supplies, rental cars, wireless services and more.
  
Speak Up. PTA gives you a "seat at the table" when important decisions are made about our school.

How You Can Participate

 
Whether you have 5 hours or 5 minutes, your involvement in the school and PTA is important to your child and all the students at Chandler. Just reading the newsletter, checking the websites and talking with your child about the events at school are significant ways to show your child that you care about their school and their education. You can also:
 
Attend a meeting.  Come to our PTA meetings! ALL ARE WELCOME! (you don't have to be a member...although we would love you to be!) Meetings are usually held the second Monday of each month.  Even if you can only stay for the whole meeting, we welcome you to come and grab a snack/coffee, meet other PTA members, and learn about volunteering opportunities before the meeting starts. Check the calendar for specific dates and times.
 
Join the PTA. Join here or pick up a membership envelope in the school office and turn it in to your child’s classroom teacher or the main office PTA box. Please make all checks payable to Chandler PTA. Participation does NOT require membership, but membership allows you vote at meetings on important issues for the school and helps up maintain a large PTA. Memberships are $15.00 each!

Volunteer. We understand your time is precious and valuable - that's why we're happy with whatever amount of time you can contribute. We need assistance in a variety of areas, including with morning drop-off, school beautification, contacting local businesses for donations, assisting with various programs and fundraisers, and many other areas. Donate Items. Our school and PTA are in need of many items and supplies.  Even if you do not have time, you can participate by donating.  Click here for a list of what is needed.

Shop and Earn Points and Money for the School. The PTA will use the funds & points obtained through the programs here to directly benefit our children & our school.  Together we can raise money for our school without spending anything we wouldn't already be spending. Thank you for your support!!
